Tigers Down Lane, 79-61

Box Score JACKSON, Tenn. – The Benedict College Tigers won their fourth straight conference game with a 79-61 victory over Lane College on Thursday night.

The Tigers surged ahead in the second half after Lane cut the lead to 37-36 on a 3-pointer. Benedict scored the next 10 straight points. After Lane cut the lead to 51-43 with 9:38 left to play, the Tigers built a 70-50 lead after a jumper by Jose Roman-Angueira with 5:20 on the clock.

Benedict placed five players in double figures. Andrew Crawford led the way with 15 points, while Brennan Reynard added 14. Roman-Angueira had 13 points, Deonte Johnson scored 12 points and Lamar Adkins had 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.

Benedict improved to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in the SIAC. Lane fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the SIAC.

Bryant Hill led the Dragons with 15 points.

Benedict dominated the boards, holding a 46-25 advantage on the boards.

Benedict is back in action on Saturday, hosting Kentucky State at 3 p.m.
