AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Benedict College Tigers were held to 38.6 percent shooting and fell to Augusta University 87-57 on Tuesday.
Augusta started the game by scoring the first 12 points of the contest and never looked back. The Jaguars had a 37-20 lead at the half as the Tigers shot 26.7 percent (8-for-30) in the first half. The Jaguars opened the second half by scoring the first eight points of the second half for a 45-20 lead and pushed the lead to as much as 41 points, 79-38, with 6:39 left to play.
Timothy Bing Jr. scored 12 points, while
Calvin McCutcheon added a season-high 12 points.
Benedict, now 1-3 on the season, is back in action on Saturday, opening SIAC play at home against Tuskegee at 3 p.m.
