ALBANY, Ga. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers defeated Miles in a morning contest, then dropped a close game to Albany State and were knocked out of the 2022 SIAC Softball Championship on Saturday.
Benedict defeated Miles 6-1 in a game that was postponed from Friday. The Lady Tigers then took on Albany State. The Lady Golden Rams hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to help them take a 3-2 victory.
Benedict ends its season with a 29-19 record.
Against Miles, Benedict scored four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead. With the bases loaded,
Taylor McNeal scored on a wild pitch to tie the score at 1-1. The Lady Tigers took the lead when two runs scored on a Miles error.

Daneisha Wooten hit a RBI double in the fifth inning, then later came home on a Miles error.
Olivia Townsend allowed just two hits over seven innings to earn the pitching win.
Against Albany State, the Lady Golden Rams opened the game with a run in the first inning on a two-out single. The Lady Tigers answered with two runs in the bottom of the first. After leadoff back-to-back walks and a sacrifice bunt, Lake hit a single to score one run.

The game remained 2-1 until the fifth inning. The Lady Golden Rams led off the inning with a single, then Sydney Pettus hit a home run to left-center field to put Albany State ahead 3-2.
The Lady Tigers had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but couldn't get anyone across the plate, as a pop-up and strikeout ended the contest.
