COLUMBIA, SC. - The Benedict College Lady Tigers defeated rival Allen University 73-66 Saturday in C.A Johnson High School.
With four minutes remaining in the second quarter, Mahogany Randall and Jazmin Grayson hit back to back 3-pointers in 39 seconds. Madison Golden hit another 3-pointer with 1:43 left to play in the second quarter to tie the game 26-26.
Taylor Christmas led the game's best scoring run for the Lady Tigers, a 9-0 burst in the third quarter. Christmas scored 13 points in three minutes for the Lady Tigers, giving the Lady Tigers the lead 44-35.
Christmas scored a total of 19 points for the Lady Tigers.
Golden had a career-high of 26 points. She added 11 rebounds, five assists, and four steals for the win.
The Lady Tigers advance to 12-13 overall and 10-8 in the SIAC conference. Allen drops to 12-11 overall and 8-10 in the SIAC conference.
The Lady Tigers are on the road this week for their last regular season game against Clark Atlanta on Monday at 5:30 p.m.
