TIGERVILLE, S.C. – North Greenville University swept a non-conference softball doubleheader against Benedict College on Friday afternoon.
North Greenville's Karley Green threw a no-hitter in the first game as NGU took a 12-0 victory. The Crusaders won the second game 10-2.
In the second game,
Shamaria Dupree led off the game with a single, stole second and advanced to third on an error.
Olivia Townsend hit a single to center field to score Dupree.
North Greenville took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first. Benedict cut the lead to 3-2 when
T'yannah Lake hit a solo home run in the third inning.
Noth Greenville (14-8) pulled away with two runs in the bottom of the third, three more in the fourth and two runs in the fifth.
Benedict, now 2-13 overall, travels to Hoover, Ala., to compete in the SIAC Crossover, where they will play six games over three days.
