COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict Tigers shot nearly 65 percent in the second half and outscored Clinton 58-40 to take a 102-80 exhibition victory over Clinton College on Saturday afternoon.
Tajh Green scored 29 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the Tigers.
Malachi McCoy also had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Benedict had a 44-40 lead at the half before taking advantage of their size height and attacking the basket in the second half. Benedict scored 54 of their points in the paint and scored 22 second-chance points.
The Tigers will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to take on Augusta University at 7:30 p.m. before returning home for their SIAC opener against Tuskegee on Saturday at 3 p.m.
